During the last Ice Age, animals had to adapt to the extreme cold in order to survive. Woolly Mammoths were relatives of today's elephants, but are now extinct. They had a similar body shape to modern elephants and huge, curved tusks. Like today's elephants, they were plant eaters. Long, woolly fur and extra layers of fat protected them from the cold.
